Nothing special

This is a simple hierarchical database for graphics.
No color palettes. No fonts.
No standard brand kit organization. Do they know what a brand kit is?

This is a 2-star product with zero imagination and the white background and grey text makes it pretty impossible to see the controls.
Anyway. Use a google shared drive for free.

Hello! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We are sorry to hear you were not finding BrandBay very helpful for your use case. We are certainly open to feedback and feature suggestions and have implemented many of the requests we have gotten from our 2000+ users who have helped us understand what features they would like to see to help their businesses and agencies including CNAME, share links, and sharable brand kits!

If you did have any suggestions like you've mentioned here we would be glad to hear from you on our ideas board (https://www.brandbay.io/roadmap) as well and see if we could implement some of the things you've mentioned such as custom color palettes or modifications to the UI.

To address a few things for clarify, there are a few items you mentioned us lacking that we do actually have as active features :)

First, BrandBay does include fonts as one of our asset types. This has been a more standard feature since our original launch, and is an important part of a brand.

Also regarding brand kit organization, perhaps there could be a misunderstanding. We do actually have this feature as well, somewhat prominently in our marketing. Brand kits are fairly simple to create in BrandBay, just by making a collection and adding the groups you would like with descriptions and your different asset types. You can easily make a style guide using these simple features, and then share it in a custom-domain share link as well. So it does allow for a number of use cases, and ways to deploy your brand kits too.

On the site you linked to the description of a brand style guide was: "A brand style guide is the rulebook for everything you create, from what fonts to use to how logo treatments work with different color schemes." and I think a lot of people are using BrandBay right now for virtually this exact purpose :)

Also regarding the white background with grey standard colors, the platform is intentionally very clean because of the fundamental design to be custom branded for every brand you work with. So when you create a new brand, it will automatically apply your brand color as the accent color for your brand. This makes it a custom experience for each brand you create and the cleanness of the rest of the UI helps your brand to really stand out without conflicting with the rest of the interface. However we are also open to modifying the UI as we have actually gone through several iterations to get to the version you see today, so we are completely open to feedback. However this is actually the first we have heard of anyone mentioning that the gray color was too light so we can take note of that!

Lastly regarding Google Drive, that is fully possible but we found that when using it for many real business applications (since their free plan is only 15GB) the price per user ends up at $9.99 per month which can add up quickly. Also of course you lose certain things like the ability to instantly access your assets in the browser extension, no custom branding, not on your own domain, and a lot of the features our users, and especially agencies have come to make as a prominent piece of their businesses!

So in summary, thank you for the feedback, and we would like to hear from you if this helps bring some clarity to some of the points you have mentioned :)

If you would like to share any feedback for how we could improve the platform we would be glad to hear further from you if you’d like to share your thoughts by reaching out to us at support@brandbay.io
