AI-powered summary of customer reviews

Tldr: Don't buy
Short version:
-You can't change your email without emailing support
-Files over 0.4mb start getting stuck at 100%
-AI summary is limited and uses it's own summary instead of data provided (doesn't provide an option to use data provided)
-Other AI are significantly faster for summaries (instead of 20+ min for 0.5mb others take 30seconds)
-Unable to drag and drop documents
*In response:
1) This is the first account out of hundreds of online accounts where I have had to contact support before being able to change my email. Also, 2FA is more secure and faster than having to wait for a human to look everything over and manually update it.
2) I tested not just a single document but over 10 documents with various degrees of size (from 2.8gb all the way to 0.4mb). I didn't just arbitrarily pick a number and go with it. It was also tested on multiple devices on different networks and they all showed the same issues.
3) My experience showed that it did not use the context of the document itself but instead favored a generic AI summary. Disagree if you'd like, but that's my experience.
4) To be clear, the summarize I am talking about isn't the AI summary but the initial creation and summarization of the nodes. The point where it gets to 100% and then sits there for 20+ minutes across different devices and networks.
5) Drag and drop is a convenience feature just like being able to change the email associated with the login. I didn't dock a product just for a lack of a single feature, it was the culmination of of 5 different things.
Tldr; To me it's not worth the money and doesn't hold up for speed, AI context, file size, or ease of use. It's great that creator is actively reading these and engaging the feedback but it still gets 1 star.

Dec 7, 2024We appreciate all feedback, but it’s important to ensure reviews are both accurate and fair. Let us clarify the points you raised:
1. Email Change Requires Support Contact
The email is tied to the LTD license for security and account integrity. This is standard practice for many platforms. Changing the linked email simply requires contacting support, and we respond promptly to such requests. We...

Old "Low Level" Note-Taking
What can I say about NodeLand?
NoteLand offers a quick, but super simple and superficial summary of websites and smaller documents. Larger documents are simply not summarized.
This is a time saver, but as mentioned, the summary is superficial.
The interface is anything but modern and not intuitive at all.
Moreover, it is necessary to make far too many separate clicks to accomplish simple tasks, for example:
- I have to press a "Create" button to create a node.
- Then enter the node name in a text field that opens at the bottom left of the page.
- Then save.
Conclusion: The window always stays in the bottom left, and when zoomed in, it is no longer present.
For connections:
- Click on the node.
- A side panel opens on the right.
- I then have to click on the tab to create connections.
- Then (if many nodes are present) search for my note in the unordered list (there's no hierarchy).
- Select.
- Confirm.
The other way for Connections:
- Click on the note
- Click on Connect in the blue menu
- Drag from one note to another note
- Done.
Why not simply display a point to connect when I hover the mouse pointer over a note? Then I would just need to click this and connect while holding down the mouse button. (As mentioned, this connection point could appear to the left, right, above or below the note since clicking on the note opens the side panel!)
And I'll stop here...
These are just a few examples of the many I could provide!
NodeLand is not at all intuitive, let alone modern, and the processes to get something done could be reduced by 90%.
Conclusion:
I absolutely cannot recommend NodeLand for note-taking.
It seems more like an attempt to reintroduce old, dead software with a new name, without making any qualitative changes regarding the UI or intuitive handling.
The only thing I would recommend NodeLand for is a quick but superficial summary of smaller documents or websites.
Therefore, 3 stars for summarizing websites, smaller documents, and for the feedback from the founders here on Appsumo...
Otherwise, NodeLand is unfortunately years behind!
P.S. If someone has $19 to spare and doesn’t mind using it for support, even with the uncertainty that NodeLand may not stay on the market for long, they can do so!
Whether I apply for a refund will depend on whether the speed of completing notes changes significantly in a short time and whether NodeLand becomes more intuitive.

A great SaaS app and more (iframe)
Yes, it’s a small application, but soon you'll be able to organize your mind maps and share them on a website page using an <iframe>. This is fantastic for displaying organized items with details.
Managing it in the backend of any website is straightforward, and the frontend is attractive, simple, and even responsive and interactive. One plus is that you can update any mind map from the NodeLand dashboard, and the update will be shown live on any website with the iframe.
It’s one of my many tools that has become one of the most valuable!

Nice effort but maybe too early
I have tried this app for weeks and I like the effort made by the creator. The LTD deal is also a bit generous. However, I feel it is too early for this app to be in AppSumo given that there are a few alternative apps that have more features and better UIX. Draw.io, even without AI feature is more intuitive and is similar to Nodeland, and its free. Also, Whimsical is far superior in almost every aspects and its UIX is something Nodeland can look up too. It also has a generous free tier subscription. If Nodeland can speed up the features in its roadmap, it might give users something to think about. But at this stage, it is way too early. Will re-buy if creator is up for the challenge to compete with whimsical. All the best!

Oct 21, 2024Hi, Erozenin
Thank you for your honest feedback and for giving NodeLand a try! I understand that it can feel like we’re early in our journey compared to more established tools like Draw.io and Whimsical.
We’re excited about the challenge of competing with the best in the space. In our vision, NodeLand is designed to fill a gap: the seamless integration of non-linear thinking into the note-taking...
