Greate Feature Set, but UI needs improvement
I have been looking for a tool exactly like this that offers everything you might want in a screen capture tool. This app has good potential. It obviously still needs some polishing. The big negative for me right now is the interface. I appreciate the fun design, but the UI / UX needs to be easy to understand rather than being fun.
Pros:
- It has all or most of the features you could want for a screen capture / feedback tool
- Great deal!
Cons:
- Still needs polishing (Especially the UI)
- A little tough to get used to the UI. This worries me when I use this with non-technically inclined people. I would imagine that the tool should be super easy to work with.

Works, but is no fun to work with! (at the current state)
First of all: the product works quite well, but it's the small shortcomings that spoilt the fun for me - and the lack of support!
I took over an hour and found 13 issues, many in the area of suboptimal UI / UX decisions, but also bugs.
Saving and loading screenshots also takes 2-4 seconds, depending on their size and also loading some overview screens. During these loading times, displaying the logo (even several times) in a gigantic, pulsating and frantically rotating manner, so that they catch the eye even more, is already rather counterproductive from a psychological point of view!
I collected all the issues with the app itself and sent a message to the developers in the chat window provided 10 days ago. Since then it just says:
"The team will be back š Monday."
I understand that a product here on AppSumo is not completely error-free due to the low price and can be optimised here and there. But not responding to messages during an ongoing AppSumo campaign is really a no-go for me!
I'm now waiting until the last day of the refund option to see if things improve or at least get a response from support.

Bugs and no support
Try it yourself: Create a full screenshoht from the product page of Instacap on Appsumo.
Now try to annotate. The complete long screenshot is shown at once.
Cons:
1ļøā£ Click on the zoom-in icon and it enlarges the screenshot (with bad behavior) click on the zoom-out icon does not go a step back, instead it shows the complete screenshot again.
2ļøā£ Use a pencil or rectancle (or any annotation tool). You can set it to the lowest width, it will show up huge.
3ļøā£ Comments: Comment anywhere on the Screenshot. Go to the right sidebar and click on a comment, it will not show you the position on the screenshot (does not navigate to the point)
4ļøā£ Support? I asked 2 days ago in my account about these bugs, no reply until today also no email. So I decided to write this here.
I have made a screencast of these bugs:

A rough 4 starsā¦
The annotation tool seems pretty generic.. like an old school paint feel. Wish it was how the comment button is where it feels integrated into Instacap And not a separate feeling entity.
But.. gets the job done. Right.
But the comment button that drops a pin is the best way to use it to be quick. maybe a hold and drag the click to outline in a colored square or circle outline with comments like the pin now. would be simple and effective.and easy to keep.. more of a flow feel and simplify the process.
Pretty useless for mobile which is what I was hoping with the web version would solve for my shirt design feedback to my clients. Which they CAN comment but not add photos without an account. Ugh.
Hate asking clients I barely know to sign up for anything.
But 4 stars for the potential, sweet ui, and itās an appsumo start upā¦ so 4 stars for having a lot I like. And it looks good. Just ā¦ a littttttle pinch of polishing.
And itās a solid piece of software.
Folders, projects, extension is simple to use cough cough wish you had free select where you can drag what to highlight freely lol but not a biggie. Itās clean and works for quick capture.
Mobile web app. Pleaseeeeee.
So my clients can make you make me need this app.
Great potential. Again. No knocks. Just a feedback. And I see people dunking on this. And idk why. Stop expecting the final product. Week one of a launch of anytjing on here.
Keep up the good work.
Maybe make the pin icon way bigger when you click for a comment.
