Hello. In the description there's a mention to "add text", but I could not find it on the app. Do you have the annotation capability in general (text, arrows, etc)?
A: I am working on that. I thought I'd put a * next to it (saying: it's coming). I've got text in there from the point of view of keypress animations, I just havn't generalized that into a text layer where you can set the font/size etc. It's definitely coming!
Thanks. In my use case I create a lot of how to videos for my team. After recording the video I include arrows and text to help with understanding. Would this be possible?
At the moment, no, since there's no editor inside v6 itself. Maybe I can come up with a bundle for v6/Studio2 (studio2 is an editor, in itself, but it's a separate app)
Q: Local or cloud storage?
Where are the recordings stored?
Is it local storage, or cloud?
If cloud only, is it limitless like (for example) Komododecks?
A: It's local, in your home folder. /Users/<you>/Movies/iShowU6
There is no browser extension as it's a local mac app. Interesting idea tho: how would see the browser extension being useful over the app, as it works now?
I already have iShowU v6, and today discovered it on AppSumo for a MUCH lower price. I have only started using it, but it really looks amazing so far! 🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮
A: Glad you like it - and if there's anything you've pondered about since using it (as in, something missing, or something you'd like to see) don't hesitate to ask! I'm always keen to mold the product towards what people want to do (as opposed to whatever crazy stuff comes out of my brain).
A: In that both apps record from the screen of your mac, then yes. v6 is different in that it gives you control over the layers. v6 *does* have trim, and backgrounds and such can be set by adding a layer underneath other layers (e.g: whatever you are recording). At the moment, it doesn't have the web editing part that Tella does.
A: Can you expand on "concurrent connected devices" please? do you mean things like cameras and such, being compose into a scene? or do you mean running instances of iShowU v6 itself?
For tier-3, 250 concurrent devices - how would you keep track of which devices are using the license? and can you disable or disconnect to free up a connection?
At the moment, its based on running instances of the app. Right now, older instances 'win', and newer instances exceeding the count show a dialog to the effect that you need to shut down other running apps. This could change in future based on feedback.
Licenses are not locked to a machine, or a user. The enforcement is based purely on running instances of the app.
Q: Annotations

I will almost certainly buy it on AppSumo just to have the lifetime license without any future costs.
Q: Are you similar to Tella?

Q: How to track how many concurrent devices?
How do we manage and keep track of how many concurrent connected devices? and can the admin disable or disconeect any device?

So to "free up" a connection, you would close the app on some machine that is running it.
