Q: How Many Concurrent Sessions Can we have?

Hello I was thinking of using Space for an online educational platform, where user can teach other user online. Therefore I need to know how many concurrent session can be held simultaneously. Also if there is a limit about concurrent sessions, is there any auto to upgrade?

A: Hey Magnifico,

At the moment we recommend running the same amount of concurrent sessions as the number of users/hosts available.

Using Tier 2 as an example, all 3 users can concurrently schedule and participate in 3 separate meetings at the same time. If 'User 1' schedules 'Call 1' for Monday 2PM. 'User 2' can schedule 'Call 2' for the same Monday at 2PM. 'User 3' can schedule 'Call 3' for the same Monday 2PM. All 3 calls will be accessible by their Users or clients at any time (before, during or after) the scheduled time of Monday 2PM.

If you are referring to breakout spaces for your students to spread out, then Tier 1 allows for 10 separate breakout spaces and Tier 2 allowing for 20 separate breakout spaces. Tier 3 and above allows for unlimited breakout spaces.

Let me know if I've helped clarify your question or whether I should go into further detail! We also appreciate your interest :)

Thank you for your answer! Can you explain breakout spaces to me or point me to a url where I can read more about that? Thanks

Hey Magnifico,

Definitely. Spaces are simply additional virtual rooms you can create for your students while still being part of the greater session. As an example, you can start of teaching in the Central Space and when it's time for group work, you can create separate spaces for your students to temporarily join and work together.

When they're ready they can come back to the Central Space and you can resume teaching. This allows bigger classrooms to more effectively spread out for instances like group work.
