Q: When is a new ‘translated request’ counted?

The current date like (Wednesday, 16 April 2025) is integrated visible into the HTML code on the server side on almost all of our pages. So every page changes every day. Is each page then translated every day and calculated as a translated request?

A: No, a new “translated request” is not counted every time a page changes. The translation request is triggered when a page is loaded for the first time or when content that has not yet been translated is accessed.

In your case, if the date is dynamically generated but the translation of the page content doesn’t change, it won’t trigger a new translation request unless the content that is being dynamically rendered needs to be translated.

For example, if the page content (such as text or other elements) has already been translated once and cached, it won’t consume additional translation credits. However, if the content on the page has not been translated or changes significantly, it could trigger a translation request.

In your case, if the content doesn’t change or the changes are minimal (like a date), it shouldn’t impact the translation credits or trigger new requests unless there’s significant content that needs translation.

Thank you! That's probably the quickest response I've ever had to a ticket! Great!

‘significant’ is a matter of interpretation, but still sounds much better than ‘every small change leads to a translated request’:-)

P.S. I just tried to report a problem via the contact form on your website, but it doesn't seem to work. Or you only get no feedback that the message has been sent after submitting.
