Disappointed – Feels Like a PR Gimmick, Not a Real Media Outreach Tool
I had high hopes for Press Ranger based on the glowing reviews, but after actually using it, I can’t recommend it. Here’s why:
"Suggested Journalists" Are Not Relevant
The platform claims to help connect with the right journalists, but the recommendations I received were wildly off. Targeting is crucial for PR success, and this system missed the mark completely.
Email Outreach Went Nowhere
We have experience with PR and media outreach, but the emails we sent through Press Ranger resulted in zero responses. This makes me question the quality of their journalist database and whether our emails even reached the right inboxes.
Overpriced and Low-Quality Press Release Distribution
We paid $299 extra for their "higher-tier" press release distribution, expecting premium placement. Instead, we got a bunch of low-quality, irrelevant PR links on obscure feeds that provide zero SEO or visibility value. It felt like a waste of money.
Final Verdict
Press Ranger over-promises and under-delivers. If you're an entrepreneur looking for real media coverage or backlinks, this is not the tool for you. The outreach and press release distribution feel like empty PR gimmicks with no real impact. I regret this purchase and would advise others to look elsewhere for their PR needs.

Re: outreach- if you're not getting responses, this is almost always due to the quality of the pitches. We have tons of folks getting placements and using Press Ranger for day to day PR. Again this is an area where we're happy to work with you and help in any way we can.
Re: suggested journalists- this is based on the information you enter about your company. If you email us, we can again help to set it up correctly to ensure the matches are higher quality. Some folks enter a sector or language combo that doesn't yield great results, that's another area we can help.
I'm always sad to hear that someone has a bad experience with Press Ranger. We're *so* available over email and chat, it's a bummer we didn't get a chance to fix it before leaving a bad review. This is the worst case for us as we also don't learn here how we can make the software better.
