My favorite aspect about this app is that it is straight to the point, easy to set up, easy for users to view. All they have to do is click on " Recent updates" or whatever text i decide and it pops up on their screen. It also sends them an email of recent updates. Potential use cases: great to send automatic emails for new products or service releases without having to create an email marketing campaign. Once someone subscribes to your notifications, that's it, they start to receive updates. You can embed it within your preexisting website or platform. I use it along with productlift.

We used to have our internal approach for handling release notes. Releases just does all this in a great and simple way.

It would be great if we can make a whole workspace "private" for internal apps as this is a frequent need for clients. Not everything is public release notes. Definitely something on Releases's roadmap. Also it would be great if the API could create posts (directly from our CI tool) so that we don't need to go back and forth to UI to publish the notes.

I couldn't resist sharing my thoughts about this amazing tool.The price is an absolute steal.
1. You can use a custom subdomain like yourlog.releasesapp.io or your own domain. 2. Currently, there are three different themes available.
3. You have the option to set your log to noindex, preventing Google and other bots from crawling it.
4. I appreciate the ability to deactivate the subscription feature.

But, I would love to see the editor offer more functionality, such as text coloring, strikethrough, and basic formatting options, along with markdown support. I also like that posts are saved as drafts instead of being published automatically; it's more foolproof, especially for people like me who easily lose focus.

Furthermore, a multilingual option for the logs would be fantastic. I'd like to write in both German and English.

Lastly, I hope for better integration with WordPress sites, although I understand the challenges if the logs are stored on a different server.

Overall, I'm delighted with my purchase! Thank you very much, and I'm happy to support a German developer. 🙏

I bought another similar product that tries to feature different functions at higher price, before I found Releases and bought it to test it out. I seldom write reviews, but feel that I need to drop a few words to support Andreas and his team for the great job.

Releases is a well designed product that has almost everything I want figured out, such as:
- setting up custom domain is a breeze
- visitors to subscribe for updates, allowing me to capture leads
- able to decide whether a subscriber needs to be notified of a new post
- able to include different tags and allowing only posts of each tag to be displayed by simply clicking on each tag
- search function in place to filter through the posts
- sleek pre-made themes available
- easily copy and past text and images onto a new post from existing sources
- allow Google bots to search and index the posts with custom slugs
- images are responsive to different devices.
etc etc
This product doesn't have to be just changelogs, but anything that you can use as a product portal to keep your leads or customers constantly engaged with short news. And also as a lead capturing tool. It's definitely a very good buy.

Andreas - please consider allowing youtube video embed in the description for Workspace Intro at the Workspace settings. It will help a lot. Thanks!

1. The simple and straightforward way like "Releases" is very good, but it needs better unicode support. When I type in Vietnamese, after pressing Publish, sometimes it loses all the content or all Vietnamese characters.
2. "Published" status should be set as default
3. Deleting backlinks costs more money, it's not funny :(
