Q: Moderation/Scanning APIs

Hello!

Can your API handle unsavoury content? I.e for your scanning APIs.

Like if some text contains some very bad words or phrases in it, will the AI have a meltdown? Or it will still be able to give a proper response. Also, if your company has any standing on this - it would be helpful to know.

Can’t control the content submitted via external parties e.g. if unsavoury UGC (e.g. comments) are being reported or fresh submissions are being scanned etc.

Can also get mass spam that is attempting to promote very naughty things.

So basically, wanting to know if sharp api could be used to defend against things like this.

Also, for the limits - any thoughts on if they will update proportionally to your site plans over time as the costs for AI decrease?

The top tier does not map 1:1 in terms of limits to your sites’ top tier for example.

A: Hello!

Yes, SharpAPI can handle unsavoury content. We already offer a Spam Detector workflow within SharpAPI, and this week, we are launching an Advanced Profanity Detector as part of a new batch of AI workflows. Together, these can be implemented as part of a powerful content moderation tool for any online software platform. This means SharpAPI can help detect and filter out spam, offensive language, or other inappropriate content in user-generated submissions, comments, or reports. Keep an eye out for a new announcement that should be published here and on our blog this week.

Regarding limits and pricing:
Our plans and pricing details, including FAQs, are available at https://sharpapi.com/en/pricing. The AppSumo deal is structured as a Lifetime Deal (LTD), which differs from our standard pricing model. Our pricing is based on the value our API delivers through easy-to-use AI-powered workflows, rather than being tied to any specific AI model on the market. While we may adjust pricing over time, it will always reflect the end-customer value our services provide. A bit more about this topic can be found found at https://sharpapi.com/en/blog/post/why-developers-should-choose-sharpapi-over-operating-ai-models-manually

If you have specific use cases in mind or need further clarification, feel free to ask!
