Q: Would Force OCR ever be provided to tier 3 and below
Firstly, I have notes which have both text and photos of text inside a pdf. I have not tried putting OCR to the test yet, since I’m still currently on the tier 1 plan, however would Socrates pick up on it? If not, will tier 3 offer force OCR one day?
Secondly, would you guys appear on the deals ending soon page when you are planning on ending your cooperation with Appsumo? I love this deal, however I’m currently living paycheck to paycheck so it’ll take some time for me to save up enough to buy tier 3.
Third, if Socrates ever add BYOK to the AI models, would BYOK be mandatory and we have to pay for the newer AI models or will you still add models for normal consumers to use?
Fifth, will Socrates ever plan to expand further in terms of functions, for example being used to redraft a contract, or write lines of code?

Edited Apr 5, 2025A: Hello -- force OCR currently will only be on Tier 4, b/c each OCR costs us money.
We don't have a firm timeframe on ending our deal -- we're actively discussing potential future collabs with AppSumo.
If we add BYOK, it won't be mandatory. You'd still be able to use Socrates without API keys. Most folks actually prefer using Socrates without worrying about API keys.

Re increasing page limits -- this is a common request, but our cost here is not just AI model tokens but special AI page processing, which is quite expensive for us. Once we find a cheaper way to do this, we'll pass it on to users.

7th, will Socrates be able to process YouTube videos URL and be able to summarize and compare in the future?
8th, please add a dedicated tutorial when you first launch the web version, including some ways to use Socrates better, such as the flow AI.
Last but not least, do you have a niche or a market that you specifically want to offer it to? And really, please increase your social media presence.
