A: Yes transcript is visible in the form us subtitles on audio and video. And yes searchable.

Hi, Can you clarify: 1. what does it means by " unlimited public KB"? - can each public KB has a unique URL with cname? or is it all under one domain url? 2. How do we assign user's access to edit/publich the KBs? can we also limit on how many KBs each user can publish? 3. What AI do you utilize beside chatgpt? if not, what is the roadmap to incorporate other AI? 4. What is the pricing for 150 and 1000 users tier?
A: 1 unlimited public kbs each with their own cname. Here's a video showing public kb's a bit. https://share.descript.com/view/AZj8BDNEwbf right now we don't have custom styles but that should be released this week
2 those limits aren't in place as of yet. if a user is an admin then they can edit create and delete all of them. but more granular controls are on the way
Thanks for the reply. For #2 - If I grant both users A and B as a user (which I assume they both get admin access?), can they edit/delete each one's KBs? If so, how can we prevent such?
This is a great use case example and something we can look into adding, the app has focused more on internal knowledge sharing than external, as such the simple permissions have been sufficient so far.
The internal kb is the bucket that holds everything from course modules to all articles/videos etc. Then you assign knowledge to any of the public kb's. I will think this out and update you soon!
That would be helpful in preventing accidental edit/deletions. Assuming you also plan to have a tracking or log mechanism to see who was last edit/delete any particular KBs?
The log system is in place on an individual article it tracks who read it and each edit. When an article is edited after it's been read by someone there's an option to notify everyone who's already read it of the change.
Then there is a global log on each edit change, deletion, etc of everything in the system.
Just to clarify - if I assign a user an account, does the user automatically get granted as the Admin? I am a little confused, as we are trying to prevent users to edit/delete other user's KBs.
Why would I use the User permission, if all KBs are public? "A user can only view their profile and see the user list and view articles mark them read and see/do courses assigned to them."
So the software is primarly designed for internal employees. The knowledgebase that stores all articles, videos, etc is only availible to signed in users and admins. aka not public. signed in users can mark courses and articles as complete, be assigned knowledge, use the ai search, be put on an org chart and alot more.
So if somoene is not added as at least a user then they can only acess a public kb at whatever url you publish that site to, and all they can do in the keyword search and view articles/videos, etc.
If in your use case you only want to do a few public kbs then just buy the lowest plan and you'll be good : )
Q: Welcome
Hi - interested in this. A few questions:
- how many admins can I have with the various plans?
- what user roles exist? - how do you compare to superokay.com? - what is the onboarding flow like?
Any user can be made an admin. Just two roles. Admins who can create and change articles, courses etc. and non admins who can only read. Mark things as read, etc. I should get more granular now that you mention it but just haven't yet.
Also when something is made public then anyone on the net can see it who has access to the url it's hosted at.
A: Yes, you have to email us, but you will get a CSV of all articles. Other stuff like courses and categories just has a list of the articles and questions in them but not their content.

I guess we are trying to understand - what is the difference between an Admin, a user and a custom when invite someone to signup.

Great questions!
So an admin has the ability to both create and update users as well as create and update articles, courses, etc.
A user can only view their profile and see the user list and view articles mark them read and see/do courses assigned to them.
Customer is when you make someone a kb admin but not an employee admin or vice versa.
Basically permission groups
