InVideo did not honour their Appsumo lifetime deal - similar complaints to previous reviews.

Dishonest. Invideo used Appsumo to gain users paying for existing features and future updates. Did not honour their lifetime deal. See other reviews with more detail. Not good for Invideo or Appsumo; degrades confidence in investing early via LTD etc.

BUYER BEWARE - Not a company you can trust

As like the other people who were 'scammed' I was an early adopter of InVideo and now I have nothing to show for it. I've been downgrade to their free plan. AS says "Please review the product you're purchasing, not the terms of the deal".

How can I review the product if it's been taken away???

The "lifetime deal" was nothing but smoke and mirrors. They systematically stripped away features ovr time, ignored support requests, and ultimately dumped us to a glorified free plan of their new 'studio' app. And since they've rebranded, its effectively nullified our "lifetime" access to the app.

It's clear they used early adopters to boost numbers to get investors, then forgot about us.

The platform is A buggy mess. I bought this around the same time I bought wave.video and I barely used invideo because it was so frustrating. Videos losing edits, exports taking days, and subpar quality output became the norm. And customer suppot is basically non-existent.

AS should remove them from the platform.

NO REFUNDS IS TELLING. Appsumo should put a RED HIGHLIGH around no refund deals like they put the blue highlight on 60-day refunds. Regular buyers might miss this, especially someone who buys as many deals as I do.

Save yourself the headache. Avoid at all costs. There are far better, more honest options out there.

Squeezed out, no investment

Purchased 5 codes in 2019. It was an investment. The plan was gradually demoted over a year, had to remind them that I could make 20 min long videos or that x or y feature was in my plan. Instead was urged to upgrade for a few hundred because 'I'm a nice client".

Was Invideo à good product? Did it work well? For a short while.

Then, it became harder and harder to make videos because "premium" assets seemed to overflow at the expense of assets. Worse yet, you'd be closing boxes and tabs of premium stuff, or carefully selecting a feature only to start over again because, hey you can't do that, premium.

Then, my archived videos started to disappear. Couldn't export. But hey "nice client" we fix it all, you just have to spend a few hundred dollard... I said no, sorry, you were a good deal but I did invest in your potential. 2 or 3 times, it was cordial. Then, I got the "what do you expect?"

Just for fun, I logged back into my account tonight lol there is a "gift" of AI credit equivalent to what I paid initially. But it's hard to tell what it brings aside from a few watermarked videos on a free plan. Do I want to pay 240 dollars to find out? Or do I redeem the lifetime deal for a year's plan?

I've had deals from 2019 that haven't aged and I'm deeply appreciative of the efforts made by those developers. Unlike Invideo.

Anyway, happy to note others have given well-deserved 1 star ratings. I'm so glad I never purchased "special deals" from invideo customer service.

Honest communication goes a long way to make a product shine.

buggy and VERY dishonest founders

First, I was, like many, one of the OG buyers of this offer on Appsumo. Original deal said we got lifetime access at the credits and levels we subscribed to to the Invideo Platform.

and Dear Appsumo, how can we NOT review the terms of the deal when reviewing the product when these are a big reason most of use BUY the deal. My criticism is not of you, but of the Vendor, Invideo, not honoring the terms of the deal.

OBVIOUSLY WE NOW KNOW THIS WAS A LIE.
No one has replied to over. dozen emails I have sent them. (I used (3) different email addresses to make sure I wasn't blocked or missing something... not a single reply from ANYONE at the company.)

I had people from (3) different well known media outlets reach out to multiple people for a story about them and no one has responded. 7 different people have tried to reach out to the founders and no response.

The old URLs to access this product no longer work. They DELIBERATELY are making it look like a whole new product and saying THAT is why they don't really honor the Appsumo deal.

This one phrase on the deal "Lifetime access to InVideo" makes what they are doing now breach of contract since we do not have the access we paid for and are deprecated to a free plan that DOES NOT output to 1080, does NOT provide 30 videos/month, nor 10 minute lengths. And the "All future plan updates" while can be argued that our "plans" no longer exist, the fact that the wording in the deal is ambiguous make this another case of breach of contract, misrepresentation within advertising, and fraudulent activity. (yes, I am a former lawyer).

Now for the review of the platform: OVER-PROMISED and BARELY DELIVERED
1) Buggy and slow: I have had countless videos lose edits, output incorrectly, or take days (yes days) for any notification that an output/export was not available or ready. I have used and tested DOZENS of other similar platforms for work and NONE were this bad.

2) Poor Quality Output: I start with high quality assets (I am a production designer by trade). and Every time I output, I can see how horrible the quality is... 720 is most likely what they are outputing even though it is stating it is higher. (I have (3) plans by the way and they all perform similarly)... the output is fuzzy.

3) Poor support: Now I know that support is bad pretty much across the industry right now, so my expectations are low. But these guys don't respond. Their help section is a joke.

Bait & Switch Unfortunately

I purchased this in 2019. I never really used it until I saw some YouTube videos about all the great video features it had developed.

So I enthusiastically logged in to my account and saw that it had been "downgraded" to a free account.

As of today, 4/17/24, I see that they've restored the 30 videos / month and 6000+ templates, unlimited users, etc., from the original deal.

That said, they've introduced a "new" video service that they're selling separately and don't even call the plan "Professional" anymore. So much for "future plan updates". They deliberately separated their new service from the service we purchased.

The "Public Road Map" link on the App Sumo product page no longer works. You have to request access. Probably because they don't want people to see that their roadmap actually included the new product's features that they now want to charge Sumo LTD users for.

The URLs https://app.invideo.io/payments/plan and https://app.invideo.io also no longer work. These URLs are still on the Product Redeem page on App Sumo. This supports that they knowingly are reneging on the deal, otherwise why change the URLs?

We didn't buy "Invideo Studio". We bought "Invideo" period. That's what the offer was. That's what the buy page said. Now they've created a new offer on Sumo that specifies "Studio". Why? Because they KNOW they reneged on our original deal and their original offer.

I've noticed this happening quite a bit lately with App Sumo Lifetime Deals. The company puts up a deal, then they add a bunch of cool new stuff, change the plan names effectively eliminating the Sumo version, and we don't get those updates because "the plan no longer exists".

As far as I'm concerned, it's a bait & switch so they can tout all their "users" and not deliver on the promise.

I gave it 2 tacos instead of one because the product does deliver some value. But it's not what they promised and they don't want to keep their word. Hiding their "Public Roadmap" is evidence so we can't trace back the intent.

If a company cannot afford to deliver on their initial promise of "future plan updates", even if they change the name. They shouldn't make the offer. And App Sumo needs to hold them accountable.

These companies use our numbers to get support, new customers, investors & press. That's the exchange for us taking a chance on them with these deals. They need to deliver and keep their word. Not change the nomenclature when it becomes inconvenient.
