Q: DeepL API integration?

Hi Kunal, is it possible for the user to integrate MultiLipi with DeepL via our own API key?

Alternatively, perhaps you can integrate with them (and others like Microsoft, Google) while allowing the user to select which service/API to use with translations on their sites? Similar to how some AI services allow the user to select which LLM to interact with in their chats and AI agents — i.e. BYOK (Bring Your Own Key).

As DeepL is one of the industry leaders in terms of translation quality (with AI-drive neural machine learning network), having the option to use our own API key or choosing which service to use through your platform would be nice to have.

A: Thanks for your question!

Currently, we are using Azure Translation for translations, but we are planning to integrate Google Translation for improved accuracy in the future. As for DeepL, we don’t currently offer the ability to use your own API key. However, we understand the importance of flexibility, and we are exploring the option to allow users to select their preferred translation...

Q: Some more questions

Hey Kunal, I have some more questions:

1) What translation service/engine does MultiLipi use?

2) Do you have any benchmarks comparing the quality of translation between MultiLipi and other translation plugins (e.g. TranslatePress, WPML, Weglot, etc.) and services (DeepL, Google Translate, etc.)? Just trying to understand where MultiLipi stands in terms of quality.

3) Does this only translate the frontend? Can we also use this to translate the backend, including text and UI elements contained within themes and other plugins that don't have a translation in a specific language?

4) Aside from sustainability, what was the reason behind offering just one-time translation credits, instead of recurring credits? Most SaaS LTDs here on AppSumo usually offer recurring credits, as well as additional credits that can be purchased if needed.

A: Hi,

Here are the answers to your questions:
1. Translation Engine Used by MultiLipi:
Currently, we use Azure Translation as our primary engine. However, we are planning to switch to Google Translation soon for better accuracy and more reliable translations.
2. Translation Quality Benchmarking:
While we currently don’t have a direct comparison with other plugins like TranslatePress, WPML, or...

Q: Social media

Hello
Let's say I have a blog in English. Each blog post is posted through a plugin to the corresponding Facebook Page.
Now, I wonder what about the translated blog post in the subdomain and how to handle its submission to the corresponding Facebook Page. Should a Facebook Page in the corresponding language be created? What is your idea or solution for this?
Thank you

A: Hi!

To handle translated blog posts on your subdomain and Facebook Pages:
1. Create Separate Facebook Pages: Yes, create a Facebook Page for each language (e.g., French, Spanish) for better audience targeting.
2. Use Plugins for Auto-Posting: Set up a plugin to post translated content to the correct Facebook Page for each language.
3. Ensure Correct URLs: Share URLs with the corresponding...

A: Hi! Thanks for your question!

In Tier 1, you get 100,000 translated words as a one-time allocation. These words are counted the first time they are translated and are not reset every month.

Once a word is translated, it is cached and doesn’t count against your limit if it appears again on your website in the future. So, if the word “hello” is translated once, it will not consume more credits...

Q: When is a new ‘translated request’ counted?

The current date like (Wednesday, 16 April 2025) is integrated visible into the HTML code on the server side on almost all of our pages. So every page changes every day. Is each page then translated every day and calculated as a translated request?

A: No, a new “translated request” is not counted every time a page changes. The translation request is triggered when a page is loaded for the first time or when content that has not yet been translated is accessed.

In your case, if the date is dynamically generated but the translation of the page content doesn’t change, it won’t trigger a new translation request unless the content that is being...
